Guest Post//Morgan's Beauty Favourites//Underwhelmed Hipster

I'm always looking for beauty basics that I can wear again and again, so I thought it would be a good idea to share a few of my favourite finds for my first time guest blogging!

I'll give you a short bit of background about myself so you can get to know the insanity that is Morgan! First of my name, Morgan Thorhauer, now I know what you're all thinking, "How the heck do you say that?" I get that ALL of the time but you say it pretty much how it looks, "thor-how-er." I write on my own blog at underwhelmedhipster.wordrpress.com and at a website called thisisthecode.com. Many of my blogs feature my two mini-dachshunds, Lola and Ingrid, as well as my family. I won't get into too much detail because I know you want to get into the beauty stuff but basically, I blog about fashion, beauty and dorky things I do.

My first beauty favourite is Sephora's Cream Lip Stain in Always Red. This colour is so vibrant! It stays very nicely and has a matte finish, which I think is beautiful, but if you want a gloss finish Sephora, sells several Ultra Shine lip glosses that are all excellent (you can use any kind of gloss really). As for what skin tones this shade looks well on, I really do think it would look great on most complexions. I, for one, am extremely pale with dark brown, almost black, hair and I think it looks superb with my skin. One thing to keep in mind would be that, in this particular shade, it's definitely a statement lip, very "go bold, or go home". This stays on for hours and hours. If you don't put a gloss on top you can go all day without having to touch it up. It really takes confidence to wear, but I would definitely recommend this product.

I pair the same product with Make Up For Ever's Aqua Lip Waterproof Lipliner Pencil in True Red (Red8C). This is an absolutely perfect pair. Again, this has a very long wear to it, you don't need to worry about it wearing off eating or drinking. The application is smooth and the finish is matte. My only complaint would be the casing around the colour itself, I find this with all of Make Up For Ever's eye and lip liners, makes it rather difficult to sharpen due to the high density of the material.

My last favourite I actually discovered rather recently after a very long search. I had been searching for a perfume that suited me for ages! I was stuck with a Victoria Secret perfume that was too sweet smelling for my fast. I know a lot of girls like sweet or flowery perfume but I really love a subtle musky sort of perfume. Boyfriend by Kate Walsh is exactly what I was looking for. Kate was basically trying to create a scent that would result from cologne and perfume mixing *ahem* probably due to some physical activity. I’ll Include Sephora’s description of it as well (they do a much better job explaining it than I can): “She inhales his shirt, taking in the scent of the man she loves. It lingers on her clothes, her sheets, her hair—all over. Imprinted on her body and in her mind, it radiates within her, filling her with feelings of warmth and desire.” “This fragrance evokes memories of that time after he has left for the day—when she gently awakes in a bed that's still warmly redolent of "boyfriend."”  The main scents that I pick out are vanilla, amber, and musk. To me the fragrance is mature, sensual, and absolutely intoxicating!
