Hooker and Young

Those of you who follow me on either Instagram or Twitter...or if you've read one of my most recent posts, you'll know that my hair has had a huge makeover! That's right, I plucked up the courage to try an all new different hairstyle, and walked out of the salon feeling like a new woman...with a front fringe! Who would've thought that I could be that brave?

After receiving an amazing amount of compliments (thank you!) I thought that it would be best if I told you my secret of where I had my hair done! I know that a lot of you have said that you've always wanted a fringe but are scared that it may go wrong, well if you live in the North East of England, I can point you in the right direction of a salon so you can leave with a sassy new look!

I had never had my hair styled at Hooker and Young, but after searching the internet for award winning salons, I decided that this would be my best bet. They had won numerous awards and after seeing before and after images, I had a lot of trust in them.

My hair stylist was Michael, and not only was he absolutely wonderful and made me feel ever so welcome, he also worked a miracle on my hair and I was delighted with the result! I had my hair trimmed as it was in desperate need, and then I decided that I was to go ahead with the fringe, I'm not going to lie, sitting in the chair watching my hair be cut was the
most scariest experience, I was praying that it would look good! But the minute that my hair had been dried and styled, I almost couldn't believe that it was me!

The salon is situated in the village of Wynyard, and has free car parking (win, win!). One thing that I love about the salon is that most of the light is natural due to the large windows, so this would be a benefit to any of you who are thinking of having your hair coloured, my fellow bloggers will know that natural light is the best type, whereas artificial light may give you a false look (I've had way too many issues with applying makeup in artificial light and then realising that my makeup was a completely different shade once outside).

Overall, I would recommend this salon to everyone! I will definitely be returning, even if it is just for a little blow dry!
